Ending Cards are autosaves of previous adventures you have completed in The Captain. The game will "remember" the results you got in previous playthroughs, and will allow you to quickly complete a planet visit without having to go through the whole adventure again on future playthroughs.
When visiting a planet, simply select the lower left "Auto Complete Adventures" button to bring up Ending Cards and results you have achieved. You can choose whatever Card you have unlocked to
For example, in your first playthrough you may have visited Nugget Node and got the "First Place" Ending Card which earns the most money and it took you 10 days.
In a second playthrough, instead of doing the entire competition again, you can simply select the "First Place" Ending Card and the game will give you the same amount of money you would win if you got "First Place" while taking up 10 days.
An Ending Card will copy the exact amount of time spent and results earned, as if you participated in the competition manually. If you got "First Place" whose prize is $600, but spent $100 and 10 days to win the competition (meaning you gain $500), loading that Ending Card will get you $500 and progress the in-game timer by 10 days.
Ending Cards will save all results achieved in a specific playthrough. This allows you to get variations in the Ending Card results, where you can pick and choose previous results that you got for a specific Ending Card. You can only get results that you have an actual playthrough for; you can't pick and choose from the Auto-Complete Adventures screen.
For example, in Desert Planet, for the "Alone" Ending Card, you can not interact with Glacies and still complete the Ending Card. However, there is also an option to turn Glacies into a Meat Package and still get the Ending Card.
If you left Glacies alone, the game will remember that you left him alone. It won't give you an option to turn Glacies into a Meat Package, because it didn't save a playthrough where you did that.
To be able to choose the Meat Package in the Ending Card results, you would have to play through the Desert Planet where you turned Glacies into the Meat Package. Then when you play the game a third time, you can choose the "Alone" Ending Card and choose between leaving Glacies alone or turning him into a Meat Package.
Here is a list of possible Ending Cards by category and how you can unlock them.
Ship Ending Cards So It Begins...
You unlock this Ending Card as part of the tutorial.
Coward/Lost Him/Jeff On A Chip
You will unlock these Ending Cards when you are boarded by General Evylton.
If you let Jeff go without a fight, you will get the “Coward” Ending Card. You will get $80 but lose Jeff.
If you failed to reach Jeff before the General did (which happens after the 3 delays are implemented), you will get the “Lost Him” Ending Card.
If you managed to upload Jeff’s consciousness to a chip, you will get the “Jeff On A Chip” Ending Card, as well as the Jeff on a Chip item.
Firefighter/Water Works!
You will unlock these Ending Cards if you chose to open up another wormhole after Epsilon Station and the ship caught fire.
If you tell Ship to put the fire out, you will get the “Water Works!” Ending Card. Your engine will be damaged as a result.
If you put the fire out with the Space Suit and the airlock, you will get the “Firefighter” Ending Card.
Bulkidus Marks The Spot!
You will unlock this Ending Card if you rescued Glacies from Desert Planet.
You will automatically get this Ending Card shortly after leaving Desert Planet with Glacies in your crew.
Sacred Location
You will unlock this Ending Card if you rescued Umix from VL-624.
You will automatically get this Ending Card around the time you get close to Epsilon Station.
The Nanobots!
You will unlock this Ending Card only after you unlock the "Get Broided" Ending Card from VL-624.
Head to the Bio-Chair after you are back on the ship and you will have to undergo an operation to remove nanobots from your brain. Once you do that, you will get this Ending Card.
Desert Planet Ending Cards
Alone/Friends/Frozen
You will get these Ending Cards based on what you did with Glacies.
If you chose “Start Process” to turn Glacies into a Meat Package or chose “Open” and gave Glacies your Suicide Pill, you will get the “Alone” ending card. This gives you the Meat Package item. You can also leave Glacies alone the entire time.
If you chose “Open” to free Glacies and reset the computer, withholding the truth from Glacies, you will get the “Friends” ending card. This gets you Glacies as a crewmate, and the Repair Module for battles after a cutscene.
If you chose “Open” to free Glacies, didn’t reset the computer in time and re-imprisoned him within the freezer, you will get the “Frozen” ending card. You lose 2 weeks but get an Engine Booster.
Fuel Cell/Blue/Red
You will get these Ending Cards based on what you did with the Fuel Cell.
If you just take the Fuel Cell and leave, you will get the “Fuel Cell” Ending Card.
If you take the Fuel Cell, uncover the hatch, jump down and press the Blue Button, you will get the “Blue” Ending Card.
If you take the Fuel Cell, uncover the hatch, jump down and press the Red Button, you will get the “Red” Ending Card.
VL-624 Ending Cards
Get Broided!/Surviving Alien/Exposed Experiments
You will get these Ending Cards based on how you chose to resolve the situation at The Lab. Note that the existence of Dr. Kake/Drum and the Alien are mutually exclusive, and releasing Dr. Kake/Drum or learning about the Alien will lock you out of the other paths for the duration of the adventure.
If you took the deal from Dr. Kake, you will get the “Get Broided” Ending Card. You will lose 11 days and be in a different position on the Star Map when you regain control, but also gain $400.
If you escaped from the alien with Umix/Prod, you will get the “Survived Alien” Ending Card.
If you exposed Dr. Drum’s experiments and successfully neutralized them with the Broid chamber, you will get the “Exposed Experiments” Ending Card. You will also gain 2 Nukes and a Nuke Module Blueprint. You will also get Umix if you asked them to come with you.
Getting the "Get Broided" Ending Card will also allow you to get the "The Nanobots!" Ending Card for the Ship.
Bulkidus Ending Cards
Laser Cannon/Two Laser Cannons
Note that these Ending Cards require Glacies to have joined the crew to be obtainable, as you won't learn the location of Bulkidus without him.
If you could only get 1 Mining Laser, you will get the “Laser Cannon” Ending Card.
If you could get both Mining Lasers, you will get the “Two Laser Cannons” Ending Card.
Soma Ending Cards
I Need That Fuel Cell!/Finders Keepers/Helping Hand
You will unlock these Ending Cards after picking up the Chip from the last remaining robot on Soma.
If you chose to use the Chip on the Ventilation Controls and grabbed the Fuel Cell, you will get the “I Need That Fuel Cell!” Ending Card, as well as a Fuel Cell in your cargo.
If you chose to take the Chip with you, you will get the “Finders Keepers” Ending Card. You will get the Straw Chip in your cargo.
If you chose to use the Chip on the Subspace Hub, you will get the “Helping Hand” Ending Card.
Creon Crystal Ending Cards
Hard Work/Primitive Melting/High-Tech Melting
You will get these Ending Cards by retrieving the Fuel Cell from the Giant Ice Formation in Creon Crystal.
If you chose to hack away at the Giant Ice Formation with the Stone, you will get the “Hard Work” Ending Card.
If you chose to light a fire with Twigs and an Ice Crystal, you will get the “Primitive Melting” Ending Card.
If you chose to melt the Ice Formation with an Ice Melting Laser, you will get the “High-Tech Melting” Ending Card.
Epsilon Station Ending Cards
The Hero!/Call For Help!/Caught!
These Ending Cards are obtained based on how successful the plan on Epsilon Station was executed.
If you were able to get the General to leave without reinforcements (ie. not using the modified fuel cell), you will get the “The Hero!” Ending Card.
If you brought in reinforcements from the wormhole, you will get the “Call For Help!” Ending Card. You will also get a Stun Rocket Launcher, 6 Stun Rockets, but lose a fuel cell. If you had enough resources to open a wormhole, that will be noted as well.
If you got caught and managed to get inside the Big Metal Container, you will get the “Caught” Ending Card.
Xerum Ending Cards
Time!/Spirit Entity!/Space!
You need to have rescued Umix from VL-624 to gain access to Xerum. You get to choose the Ending Cards after completing the meditation puzzles and choosing 1 of 3 objects.
If you picked the Figurine, you will get the “Space Entity!” Ending Card.
If you picked the Glass Sphere, you will get the “Space!” Ending Card.
If you picked the Hourglass, you will get the “Time!” Ending Card.
Nugget Node Ending Cards
First Place/Second Place/Third Place
You will get these Ending Cards based on your performance in the competition.
If you got 3rd place, you will get the “Third Place” Ending Card, which comes with $200.
If you got 2nd place, you will get the “Second Place” Ending Card, which comes with $400.
If you got 1st place, you will get the “First Place” Ending Card, which comes with $500. It is technically $600, but you have to spend $100 in order to get enough gems to get 1st place.
Note that the Time Loss mention for each Ending Card is the 10 days spent on the competition.
Fenton Perth Ending Cards
Bribed To Leave/Shut Down/Keep On Living/A Helping Hand
You will get these Ending Cards based on what you learn in Fenton Perth, and whether you decide to help Samoa.
If you took the Governor’s offer to leave immediately, you will get the “Bribed To Leave” Ending Card. You will gain 6 Pieces of Gold but lose a few hours of time.
If you chose to shut down the ongoing experiment, you will get the “Shut Down” Ending Card. You will get the Dromium Rod.
If you chose to keep the experiment going (you didn’t press the shutdown button), you will get the “Keep On Living” Ending Card. You will get the Dromium Rod.
If you saved Samoa from the Governor, you will get the “A Helping Hand” Ending Card. If you managed to open the other safe, you will get a Dromium Rod and 6 Gold Pieces. If you accepted Samoa’s gift, you will get the Stone Cube, which you can dismantle to get a Star Fragment.
Celic Ending Cards
Nice Vacation/Temple Destroyed/Artifact Safe
You will get these Ending Cards based on how you spent time in Celic.
If you don’t pursue the Artifact (ie. talk to Kim at all), you will get the “Nice Vacation” Ending Card.
If you gave Braniess the Artifact or gave Kim the real Artifact, or took the real Artifact with you, you will get the “Temple Destroyed” Ending Card.
If you gave Kim the fake Artifact and put the real Artifact back on the pedestal, you will get the “Artifact Safe” Ending Card.
Taleron Ending Cards
Taxi-Cap/A Ladies' Man/Crew Building
You can only get these Ending Cards if you agreed to bring Kim back to Taleron after the adventures in Celic.
If you leave Taleron as soon as you can (ie. tell Kim you have to leave early), you will get the “Taxi-Cap” Ending Card.
If you spend the night at the house, you will get the “A Ladies’ Man” Ending Card, as well as the Picafetto Head.
If you manage to recruit Kim to your crew, you will get the “Crew Building” Ending Card. Kim will join your crew and you will lose $300.
Lyme Ending Cards
Package Delivered!/Package Modified!
You will get these Ending Cards after doing the first task for Rog shortly after landing on Lyme.
If you successfully deliver the package, you will get the “Package Delivered!” Ending Card.
If you switched the package’s content out and then delivered the modified package, you will get the “Package Modified!” Ending Card.
Exposed The Informant!/Helped The Informant!
You will get these Ending Cards after the second task for Rog is completed.
If you told Rog that Corban was the informant, you will get the “Exposed The Informant!” Ending Card.
If you told Corban that you knew he was the informant before you reported him to Rog, you will get the “Helped The Informant!” Ending Card.
Thief!/Thief And Deceiver!/Righteous Man!
You will get these Ending Cards after the third task for Rog is completed.
If you give Rog the proper Device, you will get the “Thief!” Ending Card.
If you give Rog the Device Chassis but take the Device for yourself, you will get the “Thief And Deceiver!” Ending Card.
If you give Rog the Device Chassis, put Mr. Gondolis to sleep AND didn’t take the Device from the room, you will get the “Righteous Man!” Ending Card. Note that stealing the real Blue Hearts Necklace will lock you out of this Ending Card.
Selling Some Powder/Sold A Necklace/Sold A Listening Device
You will get these Ending Cards if you choose to sell some of the items you obtain while doing tasks for Rog.
You can sell the Bag of Powder for $200 and get the “Selling Some Powder” Ending Card.
You can sell the Blue Hearts Necklace for $300 and get the “Sold A Necklace” Ending Card.
You can sell the Listening Device for $40 and get the “Sold The Listening Device” Ending Card.
The Bomb!
You will automatically get this Ending Card after talking with Mr. Bosman.
Stole From Bosman
You will automatically get this Ending Card after taking the contents of Mr. Bosman's safe.
Recalibration!
You will automatically get this Ending Card once you tell Techley about Yppenheimer's address and meet him there.
Murderer!
Once you assassinate Yppenheimer, you will get this Ending Card.
Pi Ending Cards
Detonation!/Sabotage!/Transport Hub!
You will get these Ending Cards based on how the exhibition in Pi went.
If you pull the trigger for the bomb after the package is moved backstage, you will get the “Detonation!” Ending Card.
If you sabotage the exhibition for the Children of Nature, you will get the “Sabotage!” Ending Card.
If you don’t sabotage the exhibition and leave early, you will get the “Transport Hub Opened!” Ending Card.
Got Headquarters Location!
You will get this Ending Card if you enter the CON building in the exhibition and agree to help when you are about to leave.
Got The Location Of Yppenheimer!
If you agree to assassinate Yppenheimer for the Children of Nature, you will get this Ending Card as you are leaving for Lyme.
Spacegate Ending Cards
Traveler/Destroyer
You will get these Ending Cards based on how you interacted with Spacegate.
If you traveled through the Spacegate, you will get the “Traveler” Ending Card.
If you destroyed the Spacegate, you will get the “Destroyer” Ending Card.
Vault Ending Cards
Model Inmate/A Flying Escape/A Hacker's Escape
You will get these Ending Cards depending on how you chose to escape the Vault.
If you chose to serve out your sentence in peace, you will get the “Model Inmate” Ending Card.
If you escaped with the Anti-Gravity Wrist Band, you will get the “A Flying Escape” Ending Card. You will get the Anti-Gravity Wrist Band which you can dismantle for Dromium.
If you managed to leave early (with or without Maval), you will get the “A Hacker’s Escape” Ending Card. If you left with Maval, you will get him as a crew member, as well as the EMP Blaster and Shot recipes.
Earth Ending Cards
Edepus
Simply complete the game at Earth when installing the fuel cell and you will get this Ending Card upon completing the game.
