At this point, you need to think about how you are going to make it through the barrier and reach Earth. There are only 2 ways to do so, but you have 3 options for running in to help the outposts under siege.
Fight Your Way Through
The Union will be some of the toughest combat units you will face, with Quantum shields, rockets and powerful Laser/Plasma weapons.
You will have to fight 3 waves of enemies to clear Barrier Control and gain entry.

You must then either assist the outposts or head straight to Earth.
Note that the only outpost that has an inherent time limit is Outpost Ortis, where Thomas' wife Sarah is based. If you took more than 80 days since the start of the scene where the outpost was slowly losing their shields, the outpost will be destroyed.
Otherwise, you must fight to rescue the outposts. If you were able to make it this far through combat, the rest of the outpost fights will not be much different.
Take The Smuggler's Route
If you aren't a fighter or haven't built your ship for combat, you must take the Smuggler's Route to get in.
The Smuggler's Route requires 3 Star Fragments for entry. This isn't negotiable. If you insist on getting through, they will take ALL of your equipment and cargo.
Ironically, this includes the disruptors needed to protect the outposts if you are not built for combat. But you don't have a choice without 3 Star Fragments.
Using The Disruptors
This is actually Step 2 of getting in through the Smuggler's Route/Fight Your Way Through. If you don't have the power to do so, you can use Suppression Disruptors to defeat enemies. They require 1 Star Fragment and 1 Dromium.
It will take specific decisions, but you can actually get enough Disruptors and have enough Star Fragments to pay the cost. You may have to be more mercenary with your decisions, but it is possible.
When you are ready, decide on a plan to get through and head towards Earth.
