When you arrive at the Desert Planet, Shuttle will give you two locations: the location of the distress signal but also the location of the fuel cell on the planet.

Choose the location of the distress signal (Origin of Signal).
When you land, the Power Coupling of the landing pod will break. Leave it for now and head to the building on the right. Examine the door to learn that it doesn’t have enough power to open. If you examine the Wall Socket, you will notice that a power cable is missing.
The missing power cable can be addressed later, press the switch near the sign that says “Door” to divert power to the door and you can enter the building.
Inside you will see a person in a Meat Freezer. You can read the small Note to the left of the freezer to learn more about the situation, and if you look at the bottom right you can see that there is a passcode: 042.
Head to the computer on the right and use it to bring up a login screen. Enter the code (042) and you will be able to access more information. You can check the Messages folder to learn a significant amount of time has passed since the Meat Freezer was active.
You can try to free the individual inside the freezer but there isn’t enough power. You can also grab a Chip Servo from the Drawers below the computer, which will be used to repair the broken Power Coupling.
Head outside and check east of the door to find a Power Cable. Grab it to put it in your inventory. Inspect the Wall Socket to bring up the panel configuration, and drag the Power Cable from your inventory to the Wall Socket. This will allow you to activate the Tower Ladder.
Lower the Tower Ladder and the door switch will automatically turn off since there isn’t enough power. This is normal while the building has low power. Climb the ladder and inspect the Sun Panel. You can use it to properly align it, but it will quickly fall back down and needs something to stay upright.
To solve this problem, head back to the Wall Socket. Take the Power Cable from the Door slot while leaving the cable for the Tower Ladder in. Use the ladder to go back to the Sun Panel, then use it to prop it upright. Use the Power Cable in your inventory on the Sun Panel.
You can now climb down the ladder, go back to the Wall Socket and disconnect the Power Cable from the Tower Ladder slot and put it back on the Door. The Low Power light will also be turned off, indicating you have enough power.
You now have two options:
- You can “Start Process” to get a Meat Package and a Flux Deductor will fall from the freezer.
- You can “Open” the freezer to rescue the person inside, Glacies, while the Flux Deductor will fall from the freezer.
If you choose to rescue Glacies, you have two options:
- If you tell Glacies the truth about how much time has passed, he will ask for your Suicide Pill. If you give it to him, you will lose the Pill. Otherwise, he will ask to be left alone and can’t be interacted with meaningfully for the rest of the game.
- If you lie to Glacies about how much time has passed, he will call you out for lying (he will discover the truth either way but attack you for your dishonesty) and trap you inside the building. This happens unless you go to the Computer and reset the system while Gracies is stretching after being frozen.
If you manage to reset the computer, Gracies will not know any better and will accompany you on the repairs. You can then go back to your ship and Gracies will automatically fix the Power Coupling (without using the parts you picked up) and will create a Repair Module for your ship.
If you don’t reset the computer in time, Gracies will take control of Shuttle and leave. Your only option at that point is to lie in the Meat Freezer.
Eventually, Glacies will come back. He will ask for the bracelet on your hand to transmit the code. Regardless of what option you pick, you will eventually regain control but lose 2 weeks of time.
Whichever option you pick, grab the Flux Deductor (and Meat Package if it is there) and go back outside. Go back to the Wall Socket and take the Power Cable. Return to the landing pod and grab the Power Coupling off the ground.
Open your inventory and drag the Flux Deductor, Chip Servo and Power Cable onto the Power Coupling. Use the Power Coupling on the Maintenance Hatch on the right of the landing pod and you will be able to return to the ship.
You will then get 1 of 3 Ending Cards depending on your choices.
If you chose “Start Process” to turn Glacies into a Meat Package or chose “Open” and gave Glacies your Suicide Pill, you will get the “Alone” ending card. This gives you the Meat Package item.
If you chose “Open” to free Glacies and reset the computer, withholding the truth from Glacies, you will get the “Friends” ending card. This gets you Glacies as a crewmate, and the Repair Module for battles after a cutscene. You will also be able to visit Bulkidus later in the game.
If you chose “Open” to free Glacies, didn’t reset the computer in time and re-imprisoned him within the freezer, you will get the “Frozen” ending card. You lose 2 weeks but get an Engine Booster.
Now it is time to pick up the Fuel Cell on the planet.
