Visual Guide to the client / game
Open the following image in a new tab / window, it is a screenshot of the client using the classicgrey skin, however the layout should be the same as yours, only the colors differ. For more information on skins visit this link.
The yellow font gives names to different areas of the screen, here is the description for them:
Character Info:
This box shows the name of the player, his/her guild membership and which deity the player worships.
Currently there is only one deity, the "Tabernacle", apply an altar to start worshipping it. (needed to use prayers)

Some items can increase or decrease these rates, all players start with rates of 2.0.
Here is a short overview which stat affects what:
- STR = Strength

- affects the damage you do with physical range attacks (throw & archery attack) and affects chances to hit & get hit by enemies physically
- CON = Constitution
- affects the maximum amount of hitpoints
- INT = Intelligence

- WIS = Wisdom
- affects the maximum amount of grace points ( grace is needed to cast prayers ) and slightly affects the chance to fumble prayers
- POW = Power
- affects the maximum amount of mana ( mana is needed to cast spells )
- CHA = Charisma
- Affects the prices that shops will pay for items or sell you items for.
Mainlevel:
This box shows your current main level and how many experience points you currently have.
The blue line shows your progress towards the next level, when the line is full it will start over and a dot above it will turn blue, when ten dots are full you will level up.
Your main level equals whatever the highest skill in your highest skillgroup is.
Resistance table:
This box shows your resistance to / protection of the different kinds of attacks that you can encounter in the game.
All those two letters are abbreviations for the different attack types (IM = impact, SL = slash, etc.), the numbers to the right of them show how many percent of dealt damage will be absorbed by your armor or in some special cases (like FE = fear) give the chance in percent to completely resist the attack.
Attack type reference for B4
Skill Info (Not Shown):
This info is shown in two boxes, the one under the resistance table shows the skill you used last and the progress towards the next level, the line and dots work exactly like the ones in the "main level box".
The percent value on the left gives you a more accurate info on the progress and the number to the right shows how much experience points you need to level up. You can change the info shown here in the settings.
The "Skill Groups" box shows the levels of all the skill groups, the highest skill in a group is the main skillgroup level, the highest skillgroup determines your main level.
Press F10 or click on the "Skills" button to the top right of your screen to get a list of the skills you currently have ordered by skillgroups.
Note: Personality (PE) and mental (ME) skills are not implemented currently.
Range box:
This box shows your current activated range skill and info like amount of ammunition left and which type of weapon / ammunition is used.
Note: Range ammunition with the attributes "of assassinate <monstername>" or "of slay <monstername>" do increased damage to the mentioned monsters.
example:
Hitting an ogre with a "throwing dagger of assassinate ogre" will do 225% of the normal damage.
Hitting an ogre with a "throwing dagger of slay ogre" will do 175% of the normal damage.
Mapname:
This is the name of the map you are currently at, type "/mapinfo" to see more information in your message box.
Quickslots:
Quickslots can be accessed via F1 - F8, you can use them to quickly consume food, (un)equip items, ready spells.
examples:
- You have put booze on the F8 quickslot by pressing F8 on a booze bottle in your inventory, when you now press F8 while your inventory is closed you will start consuming it.
- You have put a spell like "magic bullet" on F1 and "cause light wounds" on F2, you can now quickly switch between them by pressing the assigned F-keys.
- To put a spell / prayer in a quickslot press F9 and select the desired spell / prayer, now drag the icon on the desired quickslot. Now hit the corresponding key to activate the spell in your range box and press CTRL + a key on your number pad to cast it.
Playerdoll:
Hold SHIFT to see it, you can enable permanent display in the settings.
The playerdoll shows your equipped items and their condition (read the "inventory" part for information about the colored bars).
You can also see some letters and numbers, here is what they mean:
- WC = weapon class
- This value determines your chance to hit an enemy successfully, a higher value means a better chance. Your dexterity affects this value.
- DPS = damage per second
- This value shows how much damage you can deal per second.
- to find the max damage, first find the DPS, then multiply it by the weapon speed. EX: 20 DPS x 4.30 Sec= 80.6 max damage.
- WS = weapon speed
- This value shows how fast you can attack, every <WS> seconds you can hit.
You see the above values twice, the left ones show your melee (punch / weapon) stats and the right show your range (throwing / archery) stats.
- SF = spell fumble
- This value is important for mages, to be able to cast (mage) spells your SF value should be at least close to 0 or in the negative, with a high positive SF you can not cast spells at all. The items you wear directly affect SF, the "casting penalty" attribute of an item is what goes directly to your SF value, mage gear with a negative cp (casting penalty) that lowers your SF is usually made of cloth or leather, warrior armor is usually made of metal which has a positive cp and therefore raises your SF up to a point where you can not use magic spells anymore.
Your Intelligence also plays a minor role to your ability to use mage spells.
Note: Prayers (spells which take grace to cast instead of mana) are not affected by SF.

- AC = armor class
- This value determines your chance to evade an attack successfully, a higher value means a better chance. Your dexterity affects this value.
- Speed
- This determines how fast you can walk / run, it does not affect your weapon speed.
If you carry more than 65 % of your carry limit this value will go down.
Check this value if you think that you lag, many people complain about lag while they are simply carrying way too many items.
- This determines how fast you can walk / run, it does not affect your weapon speed.
Inventory:
When closed this box shows how much you currently carry and your limit, when you carry over 65% of your carry limit your speed will decrease.
Hold SHIFT to open your inventory.
The "con 80 (80)" in the above picture shows the quality (1st number) and condition (2nd number) of the current item, damaged items have a small yellow / orange / red bar on their right in your inventory and playerdoll, the more damaged an item is the less effective it will be.
Do not wait too long to repair an item or otherwise it will take permanent damage. (quality is lowered by one point)
The yellow bar will appear as soon as an item is damaged, when the bar changes to orange / red can be changed in the settings.
To repair an item speak to a smith, he will charge a fee depending on how much an item is worth (examine value) and how damaged it is.
Use the cursor arrows to navigate, other useful keys are:
- A = Apply - use an item (consume food, (un)equip items, open / close containers),
equipped items have a small "A" with green background in the top left corner
- G = Get - put items in or out of a container, press A twice to open a container, then Get the item in or out
- D = Drop - drop an item on the floor
- E = Examine - examine an item, its stats / attributes will be shown in the message box
- L = Lock - you can lock items that you want to keep so you do not accidentally drop them in a shop, a small lock with a yellow background is shown in the bottom left corner of a locked item
- Press F1 - F8 while the cursor is over an item to put it in the quickslot bar.
Group box:
When you are in a group you can see the names and amount of hp / mana / grace of your group members in this box.
Combat box:
This box shows whether you are in combat mode (crossed swords icon) or not (shield icon) and some target information.
Press C to switch modes, X to select an unfriendly target, S to select a friendly target. You also see the name and health of your current target, and the colour shows the approximate level of the target relative to your own.
